Lilaq Boutique

Lilaq Boutique is tucked away in Velukaran Lane, right near the East Fort area. It’s a bit of a narrow lane, but once you find Door No. 8/22/5A, you’re there. I’ve lived in this part of town most of my life, so opening a shop here felt like the right thing to do. We don't have a big storefront on the main road, which I actually prefer because it stays a bit quieter. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves filled with different materials and a couple of sewing machines going. I spend a lot of time sketching out ideas or helping someone figure out what color looks best on them. It’s a small operation, just me and a few helpers who know their way around a needle. We get a lot of local people from East Fort who just stop by to see what’s new or to get something altered. The lane can get a bit crowded when people park their scooters outside, but we manage. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just making clothes that people feel comfortable in. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a big wedding coming up or someone needs a dress finished by tomorrow. It’s just the usual neighborhood boutique life. We don't have a fancy website or a huge marketing plan, just a sign on the door and a lot of thread everywhere. It feels more like a home than a business most days.
