Jo Academy Of Music

Jo Academy Of Music is based in Madona Nagar, which is in the Ayyanthole area of Thrissur. The address is on the main road there, with the pincode 680003. We have a small sign out front, but it’s faded a bit from the sun. Inside, the rooms are filled with benches and some musical equipment. We have a few keyboards and some guitars. It’s not a very large place, so it can feel a bit crowded when the weekend classes start. We have a lot of sheet music piled up on the tables. Some of it is quite old and has tea stains on the corners. That’s just how it goes when you’re working every day. We don't have any corporate branding or fancy uniforms. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work with the students. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which helps when we are trying to listen to the finer points of a song. Sometimes the neighbors complain if the drums get too loud, so we try to keep that for the earlier hours. We spend a lot of time tuning instruments and talking to parents about how their kids are doing. It’s a practical, local business. We don't have a lot of frills. Just a place for people in Thrissur to come and learn a bit of music when they have the time. We just keep the doors open and the instruments tuned for whoever walks in.
