Irinjalakuda Co-Operative Hospital Limited

Our hospital is located in Kolothumpady, Nadavarmba, which is part of the Irinjalakuda area. It’s a co-operative hospital, so it’s been a part of the local community for a long time. The building is a solid, older structure that has seen a lot of people come and go over the years. We have a lot of different departments, but it’s not like those big city hospitals that feel like hotels. This place feels real. We have wooden benches in some areas and a lot of open windows because the breeze is nice when it isn’t raining. Being in Kerala, we deal with a lot of humidity, so the walls sometimes get a bit damp-looking, but we keep everything as clean as we can. The staff here all know each other well, and we usually speak Malayalam amongst ourselves while we’re working. We see a lot of families who have been coming here for generations. It’s a busy place, especially in the mornings when the clinics are full. We have a pharmacy on-site that usually has a long line. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place where we just focus on the patients and the daily tasks. We don’t have a big PR department or anything like that. We just show up, do the shifts, and make sure the patients are looked after. It’s just a local hospital doing its part in the neighborhood, and that’s plenty for us. We don't need fancy things to get the work done. Everyone just knows where we are.
