India Coffee Board Worker'S Co-Operative Society Ltd.

We've been around here in Madayikonam for quite a while now. The society is run by the workers themselves, and it’s mostly just us doing the daily grind with the coffee. Being in Bhavani Nilayam, right near Kuzhikkattukonam, means we see a lot of the same faces every day. It’s not a big fancy operation, just a co-operative where everyone chips in to get the work done. The building is simple, and if you're coming through Irinjalakuda, you’ll find us easily enough. Sometimes the weather in Thrissur gets a bit much, but we keep the place going anyway. People know where we are if they need something related to the coffee board business. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. It’s a group effort here, and that’s how it’s always been. Some of the equipment is old, and the paperwork takes up a lot of our time, but that is just part of the job. We share the responsibilities. Most of us have lived in this part of Kerala our whole lives, so we know the area well. It’s quiet out here in Madayikonam P.O. compared to the bigger cities. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay organized. It’s a bit of a trek to get to the main road sometimes. We just keep our heads down and work. Every day brings something new with the coffee and the people we serve.
