Happy Furniture

We are situated in Chevoor, which everyone in Thrissur knows is the place for furniture. Our shop is just one of many, but we’ve been here in Kerala for a long time. The space is filled with the smell of cut wood and polish. It’s a bit dusty, as you’d expect from a place that sells tables and cupboards. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights and air conditioning. It’s more of a practical place where the items are stacked up and you can see how they are made. People come from all over the district to look at what we have. We spend our time talking to customers about what kind of wood they prefer or how big a dining table should be. It’s a simple business. We don't do much advertising; mostly it’s just people walking in because they saw the sign. Sentence lengths are mixed because sometimes we are too busy to talk much. We have a few guys who help with moving the heavy pieces around. It’s a lot of lifting and loading onto trucks. The shop can get quite crowded when a new shipment comes in. We like being in Chevoor because it’s the heart of the trade here. There is no corporate mission here, just a goal to sell furniture that stays sturdy for years. It’s just how we do things every day.
