Fashion Fusion

Ollukara is a quiet part of Thrissur compared to the city center. Fashion Fusion is just our little shop here. We don't have a lot of fancy stuff or bright lights. It’s just a place where we keep various kinds of clothes. The name Fusion sounded good when we started, though we mostly just have regular everyday wear for the locals. We get a lot of rain in this part of India, so we spend time making sure the roof doesn't leak on the stock. The neighbors are mostly people we've known for years. They stop by to say hello even if they aren't buying anything today. We have a small desk where we keep the ledger and a bottle of water. The day usually starts with dust everywhere from the road, so we do a lot of cleaning. Thrissur is a nice place to live, and Ollukara feels like a small village sometimes. We don't have any big goals of becoming a huge chain or anything. We're happy just having enough customers to keep things going. Sometimes we get new stock and it’s exciting to see what’s inside the bags. But mostly it’s just the same routine every day. We open up, talk to the locals, fold some clothes, and close when the sun goes down. It’s a simple existence and we’re very used to it by now.
