We are based out in Akanadu, right near the Post Office. Our place is called Akay Spices. It is a quiet area for the most part, except for when we have the machines running to process the spices. Being near the post office makes it easy for people to find us if they are visiting the district. We don't have a big corporate office; it’s more of a working space where we get the job done. The smell of the spices stays on your clothes even after you go home, which my family always comments on. We hire local people from around the Akanadu area to help with the sorting and packing. It is a lot of manual work, but we prefer it that way to make sure things are done right. We aren't trying to sell anyone on some big vision. We just prepare the spices and send them out to the markets. Sometimes the roads around here get a bit rough after a big storm, which makes it hard for the trucks to get in, but we usually figure it out. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. Most people hear about us from someone else in the district. We just show up every day, do the work, and try to keep the place running smoothly. It’s a basic operation but it’s ours and we’ve been doing it for quite some time now without any complaints.
