Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital

Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital is situated at Paraparambil House in the Peringanam area of Trichur. It is a quiet enough spot compared to the big city centers, and most people around here know exactly where we are located. We focus on eyes and helping people see a bit better when they come through the door. It’s a hospital, so things stay pretty busy with folks waiting their turn in the chairs and doctors moving from one room to another. We don’t have any big corporate slogans or anything like that. We just open up in the morning, clean the floors, and start seeing the patients who have traveled from around Kerala. The building itself has a local feel to it, being a house, which makes it a bit less intimidating for the elderly folks who come in for their checkups. Sometimes the humidity in Trichur gets to be a lot, but we keep the fans going and try to make everyone comfortable while they wait. We handle a lot of different cases, from simple glasses to more complicated things that need a steady hand and a lot of patience. The staff here mostly speaks the local language and we try to keep things straightforward for everyone who visits. There is a lot of paperwork to fill out, which is never fun, but it’s part of the job. We aren't trying to be anything other than a reliable place for eye care in our local community.
