Achus Coffee Shop

Achus Coffee Shop is on Nadavaramba Temple Road in Irinjalakuda. It is a small place where people come in after visiting the temple. We have a few wooden tables and some chairs that have been around for a long time. Mostly my day is about making sure the kettle stays hot and the milk is fresh. Sometimes it gets really crowded in the evenings when the sun starts going down and the air gets a bit cooler. We have been here for a while now. It is nothing fancy, just a spot to sit for ten minutes and rest your legs. I spend most of my time behind the counter. The street outside is usually busy with people walking to the temple. You get used to the noise after a while. We keep things simple here. We have coffee, tea, and sometimes some snacks if we have had time to get them ready. It is hard work being on your feet all day, but seeing the same faces every morning makes it feel alright. Some people stay and talk for an hour, while others just grab a cup and go. The tin roof gets very hot in the summer, so we keep the old fan going all day long. I try to keep the place tidy but it is a constant job with all the dust from the road. Nothing much changes around here. We just open up early and stay till late. If you are passing by the temple, you will see us.
