Abees Coffee & Bakers

Abees Coffee & Bakers is right here in Edamuttom. We have been in this part of Chavakkad Thrissur for a long time. The smell of fresh bread usually hits you before you even walk through the front door. We start very early in the morning while it is still dark outside. Baking isn't an easy job, but it is what we know how to do. We have the coffee going by six every morning. The display cases are full of whatever we finished baking that morning. Some days the buns are a little browner than others, but that is just how the oven works. We don't use fancy electronic timers for everything. You just sort of know when it is ready by the smell and the color. People stop by on their way to work to grab a quick bite. We see the same school kids every single afternoon. The shop is a bit small, and the counter is always cluttered with paper bags and crumbs. We try to keep things moving so no one has to wait too long in line. It is a family-run kind of thing. My cousin helps out on the weekends when it gets really crowded. We aren't looking to become some huge chain with lots of locations. Staying local in Thrissur is fine for us. It is a lot of work and our hands are always covered in flour. But it is honest work.
