Sri Kanna Hospital

Sri Kanna Hospital is down on 4 Esakkiamman Kovil Street in Chinthamanipuliyangudi. We are in the Tirunelveli district, so it’s a bit of a different pace than the big cities. Being near the temple means there is a lot of local life right at our doorstep. You can often hear the bells or the music from the temple while we are working. Our hospital is a small one, serving the people in this town and the villages nearby. We have been here at this address for a long time. People know us as the place to go when they have a fever or if someone gets hurt working in the fields. It’s a very practical place. We have some basic beds and the usual medicine on hand. The rooms are plain and we use fans to keep the heat down. We don't have a website or any fancy ads. People just know where we are because their parents and grandparents came here too. It’s a community thing. We work long hours because there aren't many other places close by. The staff is mostly local people who speak the same language as everyone else. We don't use a lot of medical jargon that no one understands. We just explain what is wrong and what needs to be done. It’s a quiet life most of the time, except when the festivals are happening at the Kovil and the street gets completely blocked with people.
