M R Salt

M R Salt is a small operation located at 37 Mannar 3rd Street in Muthiayaapuram. We are just a local business doing our thing with salt. The street is mostly residential, so we try not to make too much noise with the trucks. We’ve been at this address for quite a few years now. The building is an old one, and it has its quirks, like the door that sticks when it's humid. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who have been working together for a long time. We handle the salt by hand mostly, bagging it up and stacking it in the warehouse area. It’s physical work and it keeps us busy. We don't really have a lot of visitors, mostly just the regular delivery drivers we know by name. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just sell salt. Some days are slow and we just sit around talking about the news or the weather. Other days are a mad rush to get everything out the door. We don't have a polished image. We just wear our work clothes and get dirty. It’s a plain and simple life here on Mannar 3rd Street. We’re just glad to be working and keeping the business going year after year. It’s not much, but it’s ours and we know how to handle it.
