Ebenezer Hospital

You can find the hospital at No. 97-G-H on Palayamkottai Road, right by the Teachers' Colony Junction. It’s a busy intersection, so there is always something going on outside the windows. The building is divided into sections G and H, which can be a bit confusing for people the first time they visit. We have been here for a while and the place feels lived-in. There are nurses moving between the wards and doctors checking on the patients in the rooms. It is a hospital, so it never really stops; there is always a light on somewhere. Teachers' Colony is a well-known area, and being at the junction makes us a landmark for some. We don't have any of those shiny lobbies you see on television. Our chairs are a bit old and the paint might be peeling in a corner or two, but the medical stuff gets done. We handle everything from small scrapes to bigger issues that require a stay. The traffic on Palayamkottai Road is usually loud, especially during the rush hours. We just ignore it and focus on what’s happening inside. The staff knows the routine by heart. We drink tea in the small staff room and talk about what needs to be ordered for the next week. It is just a regular hospital doing its thing in this part of the city. We don’t try to be anything else.
