Thomsun Granites

Thomsun Granites is situated in Village Kodikulam. We are quite easy to spot since we are near the West Kodikulam Post Office. Working with granite is heavy work. Our yard is full of big slabs and smaller pieces of stone. It is not a very clean environment, there is always grit on your shoes and hands. We have been in this village for quite some time now. The local people are used to the sound of our work. We do not have a big staff, just a few local guys who know how to handle the material. There is no big sign or flashing lights. We just have a gate and some space to park the trucks. Sometimes we run out of space when a big shipment arrives, and things look a bit chaotic. We handle the orders as they come in. There is not much of a hierarchy here; everyone just chips in where they are needed. We spend a lot of time outdoors, so we are at the mercy of the weather. On hot days, the stone gets warm to the touch. We are not looking to become a giant corporation. We are happy being a local fixture in Kodikulam. Most of our customers are just people from the nearby villages looking for something for their doorsteps or kitchens. We just do the work and go home to our families.
