If you are looking for Pj Spices, we are right near the Anna Bhuvneshwaripurna Temple in Ramakkalmedu Po. Being so close to the temple means we hear the bells and the morning prayers every single day. Our place at No-6 is a basic building, nothing special to look at from the outside. We have a small yard where we sometimes dry things out when the sun is out. Ramakkalmedu is a nice area, quite peaceful compared to the bigger towns. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just sacks of spices piled up. We don't have a lot of fancy machinery, so a lot of what we do is by hand. We spend hours sorting through the batches to pick out any stones or stems that shouldn't be there. It’s tedious work, but it keeps us busy. My hands usually smell like cardamom or pepper by the end of the day. We have a small desk near the door where we keep the bills and a phone that rings more than you’d expect. The temple crowds sometimes spill over into our lane, which makes it feel lively. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We just focus on what’s right in front of us at No-6. It’s a family-run sort of feeling, even if we aren't all related. We just show up, open the shutters, and get to work until it’s time to close up and go home.
