Dhanwanthari Vaidyasala is located in Thodupuzha, right by the IP Hospital in the Idukki district. We are actually quite close to the private bus stand, so there is always the sound of horns and engines in the background. It is a very busy part of town, especially in the mornings when the buses are lined up and people are rushing to work. The building has a lived-in feel to it, which makes sense given how long it has been part of the local landscape. Working here means seeing a lot of people passing by on their way to the hospital or the markets nearby. Idukki weather can be a bit unpredictable, so we always keep an umbrella near the door just in case. The interior is simple, with wooden chairs and the typical smell of a traditional Vaidyasala. We spend a lot of time talking to the locals who stop in for one thing or another. It is not a silent office environment by any means, but it has a steady rhythm that we have all grown accustomed to. Most of us eat our lunch together in the back room while the rain comes down outside. It is a very practical, local place to be. Being near the bus stand makes it easy for the staff to get home, even if the area stays noisy until late at night. It is just a part of life in Thodupuzha.
