T S K Garments is over at No. 3 Rajammal Layout in the Poona Thottam area, under the Gandhi Nagar Post. It’s a bit of a quiet corner, which is nice because it lets us focus on our work without too much distraction. We are a small garment unit. The space we have at No. 3 isn't huge, but it's enough for our sewing machines and the tables where we cut the fabric. We spend most of our days listening to the hum of the machines and the sound of the scissors. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We don't have a big corporate structure or any of that. It’s just a few of us making sure the garments are stitched correctly. The layout itself is mostly houses, so we try not to be too loud early in the morning or late at night. We’ve become a part of the local scene here in Poona Thottam over the years. Some of the people who work here live just a few streets away, so it feels like a neighborhood effort. We don’t really do any big marketing or have a flashy storefront. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking past the layout. It’s a simple, honest way to run a business. We just keep our heads down and make sure the work gets done as promised. It’s what we know.
