You can find Sivam Pipes & Hardware right at Plot No: 66G/2 on V.R.M Road. We are situated directly under the railway bridge, so the whole shop shakes a little every time a train passes overhead. That is something you stop noticing after the first week of working here. The road outside is usually quite dusty, so we spend a fair amount of time wiping down the hardware and the PVC pipes stacked up inside. Because it is a narrow space, we have to be smart about how we pile things up to keep the walkway clear. No fancy displays or bright lights are needed here. Most of the time, we are just wearing our work clothes and helping people figure out what kind of bolt or pipe fitting they need for a repair. It gets loud and sometimes a bit chaotic when several customers come in at once asking for different items. Handling metal and plastic parts all day keeps our hands pretty busy. A simple ledger on the counter tracks everything that goes out. There is usually a stray cat that hangs around the back near the pipes, and we give it some milk now and then. It is a basic setup, but it works for us and the people who live around here. We just take each day as it comes and try to keep things moving along.
