Karthik Cement Works

Karthik Cement Works has been over here in V.O.C Colony for a good many years now. We are tucked away at 10/47 in Lakshmangudi. It’s a quiet enough area most days, except when we have the mixer going. We mostly handle small cement jobs and supply some bags to the neighbors. It started out as just a small side thing but grew into a full-time job for a few of us. We have seen the colony change quite a bit since we opened up. New houses going up everywhere. We try to stay busy and keep the yard tidy, though with cement, that is almost impossible. There is always a layer of gray dust on the porch. My neighbor usually complains about the noise if we start too early, so we try to wait until at least eight in the morning. We don't have a big website or a marketing team. If you want to talk to us, you just walk into the colony and find the house with the bags piled up outside. We do the work ourselves. Sometimes it’s just me and one other guy. It is honest work and it pays the bills. We don't try to act like a big corporation because we aren't. We’re just local people doing cement work for other local people. It’s simple and we like it that way.
