Arunai Granites

If you walk down Thirumanjana Gopuram Street, you will find us tucked away amongst the other shops. Arunai Granites has been here for a while now, and we have seen the street change quite a bit over the years. Being near the gopuram means there is always a lot of foot traffic and people moving about, which keeps things lively. Our shop is mostly filled with samples and some smaller slabs that we can show people when they walk in. It’s a bit cramped inside because granite takes up a lot of room, but we make it work. We usually spend the day talking to homeowners or contractors who are looking for something specific for a kitchen or a floor. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, some notebooks for keeping track of orders, and a lot of heavy samples. We try to be honest about what a certain stone will look like once it is actually put in a house. Sometimes people want things that just won't work, so we have to explain why. It is a lot of back and forth, and sometimes the phone rings off the hook while we are trying to load a customer's vehicle. It’s a busy life on this street, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We just focus on the stone and making sure the measurements are right before anything leaves the shop. It stays busy from morning until we close up.
