THALAM GRAMEEN NIDHI LIMITED

Our office is situated at Uthradam in Maitri Nagar, over in the Mariam area of Venjaramoodu. It is a decent spot to work from, and being in a place like Maitri Nagar means we have houses all around us. We are Thalam Grameen Nidhi Limited, and we mostly just handle the local finance stuff that people in the village need. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a sturdy place where we keep our computers and all the register books. Most days start with sweeping the front and getting the files out. We get a mix of people coming in, some just to ask questions and others to finish their transactions. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stop, but it’s not too bad. The room we work in has decent light during the day. We have a routine of checking the entries and making sure the cash box is right at the end of every shift. Sometimes we talk about the news or what's happening in Venjaramoodu while we work. It’s not a high-pressure environment, just steady. We have a small bench outside for when it gets crowded, though that doesn't happen every day. Most of the time it’s just the sound of the ceiling fan and the occasional motorbike passing by. We are just a local group trying to keep the books straight for everyone who joins the Nidhi.
