Sri Ganesh Corporation

Over on N. H. Road in Karamana, you’ll find Sri Ganesh Corporation. We’ve been empty gunny bags merchants here for a good long time. If you come inside the shop, you’ll see stacks of bags piled up almost to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a dusty place because of the fibers from the jute, but that is just the nature of the business. We spend most of our time sorting through the bags and making sure they’re in good enough shape for the customers who need them. People from the local markets stop by when they have grains or other goods to pack up. We don’t have a website or any of that modern stuff. We still use old notebooks to keep track of our sales. It’s a family-run operation, and it’s pretty small. The traffic on the main road outside is always loud and it can be hard to hear each other sometimes. We just drink our tea and wait for the regulars to show up. It isn't a glamorous job by any means. We are just simple people doing a simple trade. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon is a bit much, but we have a couple of fans that keep us going. We’ve stayed in this same spot because everyone knows where we are. We don’t feel the need for big changes. We just sell bags.
