About Shri Padmanabham Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Thiruvananthapuram
We operate out of Chundayil House, which is house number 344/1 in Mambra. It’s a quiet area near Erayamkudy. Most of us here have lived in this part of the world our whole lives. The foundation is run out of a few rooms. It’s a lived-in space. There are papers everywhere and the smell of old books. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. If you stop by, you’ll probably just see us working at the tables. The yard outside has some trees that give good shade in the afternoon. We take turns making tea for everyone. The work we do is pretty straightforward. We don’t go in for big marketing or trying to sound important. We just look at what needs doing and try to figure it out. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot of filing to do. Other days it’s quiet and we can leave early. Mambra is a nice place to be based. It’s not as fast-paced as the big cities. We like it that way. It lets us focus. The building is an older style, but it stays cool enough. We’ve had to fix the plumbing a few times lately. It’s just an ordinary place where we try to do some good work. Nothing more to it than that. There’s a small grocery shop down the road where we get our supplies. Sometimes a stray dog sits by our door.
