Our hospital, Shivkusuma Healthcare, is located at Sree Patticheelha, and we are under the care of Dina Nath Dubey. It’s a private hospital, but we really just think of ourselves as a local healthcare spot for the people living around here. We aren't a big, fancy institution with hundreds of rooms. We are a bit smaller, which lets us get to know the people who come through our doors. Running a place like this involves a lot of daily chores that people don't often see. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers and making sure our records are all in order. It’s a lot of practical, hands-on work. Our staff is mostly made up of people from the local area who just want to do a good job. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. People usually find us because they live in the neighborhood or they’ve heard about us from a friend. We try to keep the atmosphere calm, even when it’s busy. There’s always something to do, whether it’s checking on a patient or fixing a light bulb. We just focus on the day-to-day tasks of keeping a hospital running. It’s a simple goal, but it takes all of our time and energy. We’re just here in Sree Patticheelha doing what we can for the folks around us.
