Our office is located at Shalom Bhavan, which is tucked away in Paravottukonam. It is over in the Dhanuvachapuram area, near Amaravila P.O. If you know Neyyattinkara at all, you will find that we are not too far from the main parts of town. We handle the daily financial stuff for the community here in Thiruvananthapuram. It is a small and humble setup. We do not have one of those big glass buildings you see in the city centers. It is just a regular building where we help people save a bit of their hard-earned money or get a small loan when things get a little tight for them. It is mostly local residents from this neighborhood and nearby who come in to see us. We know how hard people work around here to make ends meet. We just sit at our desks and try to sort through the papers as fast as we can. Sometimes the weather makes things a bit slow, or the power goes out for a while, but we stay open and keep working. It is a very straightforward business. There are no big speeches or fancy promises here. We just look at the numbers and talk honestly to the people who walk in. Most of the time, it is just neighbors chatting about their families while we fill out the ledgers by hand. We have been part of this community for a while.
