About Rishi Hospital – Medical & Healthcare in Thiruvananthapuram
Rishi Hospital sits in the East Fort area, right across from the Central Bank. It’s an old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and the buildings are packed tightly together. We have been in this location for a long time, and the building definitely shows its age with some cracks in the plaster and heavy wooden doors. The main entrance stays open all day to let the air circulate, though it also lets in the sound of the traffic and the temple bells nearby. Inside, the hallways are a bit narrow, and we have to be careful when moving stretchers around the corners. The nurses' station is right in the middle, cluttered with clipboards and old telephones that still ring with a loud bell sound. We have a small courtyard in the center of the building where some of the staff go to sit during their breaks. The walls are covered in old health posters that have turned a bit yellow over time. We don't have a lot of the fancy equipment you see in the big city hospitals, but we have the basics that get the job done for the local families. The pharmacy is just a small room near the gate where we keep everything in metal lockers. It’s a busy, lived-in place that has seen a lot of people come and go over the many years we've been here.
