Excel Exports

Our place, Excel Exports, is at T. C. 36/291(1) in Pettah. It’s a small operation, really. We don't have a massive warehouse or a fleet of trucks of our own. Mostly, we manage the logistics and the shipping for various items that need to go abroad. The office is usually stacked with papers, samples, and shipping manifests. We spend a lot of time on the computer, but also on the phone with customs people and shipping agents. Pettah is a busy spot, and sometimes parking is a nightmare, but we like being centrally located. It makes it easier to run over to the post office or meet with local suppliers. We’ve had to learn the hard way about how many things can go wrong with an export order, so now we’re pretty obsessive about the details. We don't have any fancy mission statements. We just want to make sure the customer gets what they ordered and that it gets there in one piece. Sometimes we're here late at night because of the time differences with other countries. It’s just a few of us making sure everything moves along. We keep things pretty informal in the office, but we’re serious when it comes to the shipping deadlines. It’s a lot of coordination, and we just try to keep our heads down and get through the daily list.
