PERUMKADAVILA GRAMEEN NIDHI LIMITED. Our office is located at Sreejam in Chulliyoor. It’s a small place where we handle the Nidhi business for the village. Being a Grameen Nidhi means we are mostly focused on the folks right here in the local area. The building is called Sreejam, and it’s pretty easy to spot once you get into Chulliyoor. We spend our days talking to neighbors about their small savings and helping them with little loans. We don’t have a big fancy sign or anything like that. People just know where we are. Inside, there are a few desks and some benches for people to sit on while they wait. We do a lot of writing by hand in the registers. The windows look out onto the greenery of the village. It’s a peaceful way to work. We don’t have a lot of staff, so everyone knows how to do everything. Sometimes the internet is slow, so we just stick to the manual ledgers until it comes back. Thiruvananthapuram is the district, but here in Chulliyoor, life moves a bit slower. We like it that way because we can take the time to talk to everyone who comes through the door. It’s about helping each other out with money when someone needs it for a farm or a small business. We just stay here and do our part for the community. We often share some snacks in the afternoon while finishing up the day's entries. It's quiet.
