New Jyothi Publications

Our office is tucked away in Thampanoor at the New Jyothi Towers, right on SS Kovil Road. If you’ve ever been to this part of Thiruvananthapuram, you know it’s always moving, with people heading to the station or the bus stand nearby. New Jyothi Publications is mostly just stacks of paper, boxes of books, and the sound of machines or people talking on phones. We have been here for a good amount of time, seeing the street change while we stick to our routine. The building itself is easy enough to find once you get onto the main road. Inside, it’s usually a bit of a mess with manuscripts and proofs lying around, but we know where everything is. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so the fans are always going full speed. We aren't a huge operation with fancy glass walls; it’s more about the desks piled with work and the staff trying to get the latest print run ready. People come by to pick up orders or just to ask about what we are working on next. Sometimes we have tea delivered from the shop downstairs, which helps when things get a bit hectic. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or anything like that because there is always something else to do. It’s just a regular workplace where we show up, do the work, and head home like everyone else in the city.
