Military Hospital

If you head over to the Pangode area in Thiruvananthapuram, you’ll find our hospital near the Thirumala post office. It’s a pretty green spot with lots of trees around, which helps with the humidity, though it stays quite muggy most of the year. The building has been here for years, and you can tell by the style of the long corridors. They are wide and high, and sometimes it feels like a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to the layout. We see a lot of retired folks coming in for their monthly medicines, and they usually like to sit and talk in the shade while waiting for their turn. The staff here is a mix of people who have been around forever and some newer faces just starting out. We have a routine that we stick to, starting early in the morning before it gets too hot outside. The canteen nearby is where most people go to grab a tea when the wait gets a bit long in the afternoon. It isn’t a huge place, but we handle plenty of cases every single day without much trouble. There’s always someone at the front desk trying to figure out which room they need to go to next. Sometimes the computers go slow, and we have to do things the old-fashioned way with paper logs and pens. It’s just part of the daily life here at Pangode. We don't have any big signs, just the usual hospital smells and the sound of birds.
