Maharani Studio

The studio is right here in Arynade, not too far from the main junction. It is a place where we spend most of our daylight hours. Thrivandrum can get pretty warm, so we have the fan going all day long. Mostly, it is just us taking photos for whatever people need. Sometimes it is for a wedding and other times it is just a passport size photo for a school form. We have been sitting here near Arynade Junction for a while now. People walk by, some stop in to ask prices, and others just wave. It is a simple setup with the backdrop and the lights. We try to keep things organized, but there is always some dust from the road that gets inside. We have some old frames on the wall that show how things used to look around here. The camera gear is kept in the cupboard when we aren't using it. Usually, the mornings are quiet and things pick up after the schools let out. We do not have anything fancy, just the basics to get the job done. If someone needs a quick print, we try to get it done while they wait, though the printer sometimes acts up. It is just the way it goes. Living and working in this part of Thrivandrum has its own pace. You get to know the neighbors and the people who run the tea shop nearby. It is a small business life.
