We are located on Parakudi Lane in the Pettah area of Thiruvananthapuram. The address is Tc 31/1076(1), and it is a place where a lot of technical work happens every day. As part of the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, we deal with a lot of engineering tasks that require a lot of concentration. The lane outside is usually quiet, but inside the gate, things are quite different with people moving between labs and offices. We wear our identification badges all day and follow a lot of specific rules because of the nature of the work. It is not like a regular shop where you can just walk in off the street. Most of us have been working here for years and we are used to the strict routines. The buildings are older but they are kept in good enough shape for the instruments we use. We spend a lot of time looking at diagrams and checking parts that go into rocket engines. It is a lot of responsibility, so we do not talk much about non-work things during the day. The heat in Kerala is always a factor, but the workspaces are kept at the right temperature for the hardware. We do not do any kind of promotion or public relations from this specific office. We just come in, do the technical jobs we were trained for, and then head back to our families in the evening.
