Kumar Engineering

You can find Kumar Engineering at Vp 2/358, in a place called Sreesailam in the Madathuvilakam area of Peroorkada. It is a bit of a mouthful of an address, but locals know the spot. We have set up shop in a building that feels more like a home than a factory, which is quite common around here in Kerala. We do various engineering jobs, mostly small-scale stuff that people in the neighborhood or nearby businesses need. The surroundings are actually quite green, which is nice when you are working with metal and tools all day. Our workshop is behind the main part of the building. We have got our tools spread out and there is always a project half-finished on the bench. It is usually just a couple of us working. We do not have a big corporate structure. If you call, you are probably talking directly to the person who will be doing the work. We have lived and worked in Peroorkada for a long time. The rains can get pretty heavy here, and sometimes we have to stop work when the sound on the roof gets too loud to hear anything else. We spend our mornings checking the equipment and our afternoons finishing up the tasks. It is a quiet way to make a living, and we are happy to stay in this part of town where we know our neighbors and the shopkeepers down the road.
