Deva Traders

Being right near the Mahadeva Temple in Kazhakuttom means we see a lot of people every day. Deva Traders has been sitting here on West Nada for quite some time now. We deal with various items, mostly things people need for their homes or small projects. It’s a small shop and space is always tight. We have boxes stacked up almost to the ceiling. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for. We know most of the people who live around here by name. It’s a nice community to be part of. We open early because the temple gets busy at dawn. My brother and I take turns running the place. We don't have a website or anything fancy. We just write everything down in a ledger. It works for us. The rain sometimes gets in through the front if we don't pull the shutter down fast enough. Those are the days we spend more time cleaning than selling. We don't have a big marketing plan. We just show up and open the doors. If someone needs something, they come in. We try to keep the prices fair. It’s just a regular local business. We don't pretend to be anything else. Most evenings we sit out front for a bit before closing up. It’s quiet once the temple crowds thin out. We usually listen to the evening prayers while we sweep the floor and get ready for the next morning.
