We started Home Kitchen in Thiruvananthapuram on Sankar Road Lane. It's in the Sasthamangalam area, right near the Rkd NSS Hss school. Having the school nearby means there is a lot of energy on the street during the morning and afternoon. We are tucked away in the lane, so it’s not too loud all the time. Our address is 695010. We mainly focus on making food for people who live around here or work nearby. It is a simple setup with a basic kitchen. We don't have a big dining hall or anything fancy. It's just about the cooking. We use the recipes we grew up with. Sometimes the ingredients aren't exactly what we want, but we make it work with what is available at the market. The lane can be a bit quiet in the evenings. We spend our time cleaning up and getting ready for the next day. Being in Sasthamangalam is nice because it feels like a real community. People stop by to chat while they wait for their food. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make sure people have something good to eat. It's a small family-run thing and we like the pace of it. If you are walking down Sankar Road, you will find us easily enough. It is just a kitchen doing its daily work for the neighbors.
