Our office is located on Light House Road in Vizhinjam, which is a part of Thiruvananthapuram that always feels alive. Being so close to the coast, we get a nice sea breeze coming through the windows, though it does bring a bit of salt and dampness to everything. We spend our days at Focus Kerala Tours Travels talking to people about where they want to go next. It’s not a very big space, just enough room for a few chairs and a table piled high with old maps and bus schedules. We’ve lived in this area for years, so we know the local roads better than any GPS would. Sometimes travelers come in looking for advice, and we end up chatting for an hour about the best places to eat or which trains are usually late. It’s a relaxed way to work, really. We don’t have a fancy website or a big marketing team. It’s mostly just us and the telephone. Sometimes the noise from the street outside gets a bit loud, especially during the tourist season when the buses are lined up. We try to keep things organized, but there’s always a stray notebook or a half-finished cup of tea on the desk. It’s a practical business, and we just try to help people get their travel plans sorted without making things too complicated for them. We like being near the lighthouse.
