Devi Kripa Home Stay

We have our home stay here in Pachalloor, not too far from the main beach area in Kovalam. The house number is T.C. 68/1951. It’s a house we’ve lived in, and we decided to open up some rooms for people who don't want to stay in the big hotels. It’s a lot quieter here than right on the beach front. We have some trees in the yard that give a bit of shade during the hottest part of the day. My wife and I do most of the work ourselves. I handle the repairs and she looks after the cleaning and the kitchen. We don't have a big staff or a front desk. If you need something, you just come find us in the back or in the garden. Sometimes we have guests who stay for a month, and other times people just pass through for a night. The rooms are basic, just a bed and a fan and a place to put your clothes. We like to keep the porch clean so people can sit out there in the evenings. You can hear the distant sound of the traffic and sometimes the ocean if the wind is right. We spend our mornings sweeping the leaves and making sure there is water in the tanks. It’s just a regular house that we share with travelers. We try to keep it comfortable in a normal, everyday way without being too fussy about things.
