Hari Krishna Ayurvedic Remedies

We’ve been set up here on Kattakkada Road for quite some time now, just a short walk from the Ayyappa Temple. It is a busy spot but we like it. Most days start early, getting things ready before the first people stop by looking for traditional remedies. We keep a good variety of Ayurvedic items on the shelves. It’s mostly local folks from around the neighborhood who come in. Sometimes someone is just passing by on their way to the temple and they pop their head in to ask a question about a specific herb or a tonic they heard about. We don't do anything fancy with the shop layout. It’s just rows of bottles and packets where we know where everything is. My cousin helps out when it gets crowded in the evenings. The smell of the herbs is something you get used to after a while, though visitors always mention it. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the stock arrives all at once and there are boxes in the corners for a day or two. It’s a small operation, really. Just us handling the daily tasks, talking to neighbors, and making sure the jars are filled. If you are walking down the road toward the temple, you’ll see our wooden sign. We are usually here until the sun goes down, just doing our daily bit with the old ways of healing and making sure everything is in order before we lock up for the night.
