Ayurvastra Textiles Private Limited

Our place is down in Balaramapuram, inside the S N Lace Building at number 7/236. If you know the area, you know it is all about textiles here. We have been working out of this space for a bit, dealing with different types of fabrics and weaving traditions that the town is known for. It is a bit crowded with all the rolls of cloth and the machinery we use, but we make it work. Most mornings start with checking the stock and seeing what needs to be finished. It’s not the kind of office you see in the city. It’s more of a workshop where people are actually doing things with their hands. Sometimes the power goes out or things get delayed, but that’s just how it goes in a small town. We don’t spend much time on fancy emails or big meetings. Usually, we are just talking to the weavers or checking the threads ourselves. The building is an old one, and it has that specific smell of cotton and dye that sticks to your clothes. We like being part of the Balaramapuram community because everyone here understands the work. There is no corporate ladder here, just a group of us trying to get the textiles ready for whoever needs them. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a break then. It is a plain, honest way to make a living, and we are quite content with it.
