We are out in Ponneri at NO 10/285-1. This is where we run Welthy Dairy Food Products India Private Limited. Life in a dairy business is mostly about the clock. We have to be up and moving while most people are still sleeping. The milk comes in early and we have to get it processed and cooled down immediately. It is a lot of heavy lifting with the cans and keeping an eye on the pipes and tanks. The floors stay damp and there is always the sound of water running for cleaning. Ponneri is a good spot for us because it’s close enough to the farms. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. Most of our work is just physical labor and making sure the quality is okay before it goes out. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing it with greasy hands. It’s not always pretty work but it is honest. We have a small group of workers who have been with us since we started. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the weather and the local news while we wait for the next batch to finish. If you happen to be in the area you’ll find us near the main road. It’s just a plain building where we do our daily chores to keep the dairy moving.
