Uditya Foods Private Limited

We are over at the Heavy Vehicles Estate Market Centre. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say. Our spot is TB/034/04. Basically, we are a bakery and juice shop. Uditya Foods Private Limited is the official name, but people just come in for a snack or a cold drink. We are in Avadi, Chennai, out near Thiruvallur. The market center is always buzzing with people from the estate and the factories nearby. It gets very busy during the lunch hour and when the shifts change. We started this because we saw everyone needed a decent place to grab a bite. We bake our own bread and some tea cakes. The juice is made fresh when someone asks for it. It’s not a fancy cafe with leather chairs. It’s a market shop. You might have to stand or sit on a plastic stool. We keep the oven going most of the morning. The smell of fresh buns is the best part of the day. Avadi is a tough, working-class area, and we fit right in. We don't use fancy packaging. Just paper bags and plastic cups. It’s practical. My cousin helps out at the counter and we have a couple of guys in the back. It’s a small operation but it keeps us on our feet. The heat from the ovens and the Chennai sun is a lot, but we manage. We are just here to feed the hungry workers.
