Our place is located over at Plot No. 17/F1 in the Phase II section of MCK Nagar. It’s inside the Shrees Shoba building, which is tucked away in Adayalampattu, near Poonamallee. If you’re driving through Tiruvallur, you might miss us if you aren’t looking for the sign. Mannavar Apparels is basically where we spend all our daylight hours dealing with clothes. There isn't much to say about the office itself other than it's full of fabric rolls and loose threads on the floor. We have a few rooms set up for the different stages of putting clothes together. Most of our staff lives nearby in the Tamil Nadu area, so there is a lot of local talk during the lunch breaks. We deal with the usual problems like power cuts or late deliveries, but we manage. The building is a standard spot in a residential-meets-commercial zone. It's not a huge factory with thousands of people, but we stay busy enough with the orders we get. We don't spend money on fancy brochures or big ads. Usually, the work comes in because people know where to find us in Poonamallee. We just try to get the stitching right and make sure the sizes are what they should be. It’s a quiet enough area for the most part, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood here in 600095. Just a group of people working with cloth and trying to stay organized.
