Being a general contractor means we do a bit of everything. We handle the labor, the materials, and the timeline for various jobs. It’s a lot of juggling. On any given Tuesday, we might be arguing with a plumber in the morning and talking to a tile supplier by lunch. It’s a noisy, busy way to make a living, but we’re used to it. The office is right here in the neighborhood, so we see the same people every day. We aren't some distant company with a call center. If there’s an issue, you just come to the door and talk to us. We’ve had to learn a lot over the years about what works and what doesn't in this climate. The salt in the air here can be tough on some materials, so we have to be careful about what we buy. We don't use fancy software for everything; a lot of our planning still happens on a big whiteboard in the main room. It’s simpler that way. We just want to finish the work so we can move on to the next one. It’s practical, everyday work. We’ve been in Ponniamman Medu for a while and don't plan on moving.
