Bake-O-Holic is tucked away in Ambattur, on VOC Street in VGN Shanti Nagar. It’s a bit of a drive from the city center, but it’s a nice area. Our place is at Plot No 16. If you come by in the morning, the whole street smells like fresh bread and sugar. We aren't a massive factory. It’s just us, some ovens, and a lot of flour. We started this because we actually like baking. It’s not just a business for us. The kitchen is where we spend almost all our time. It’s usually a bit dusty with flour and the cooling racks are always full. We handle everything ourselves, from mixing the dough to packing the boxes for delivery. It’s an OPC, so it’s a small operation, but we stay busy. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic when we have a big order, and the floor gets messy. We don't mind. We're not trying to look like a fancy boutique bakery. We just want to make stuff that tastes good and get it out to people in Chennai. The neighborhood is quiet, mostly families, so we try not to make too much noise too early. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours. We’ve got our regulars from around Shanti Nagar who stop by. It feels good to be a part of the local community. We’re usually here until the last loaf is out of the oven.
