Alabite Minerals and Building Materials Private Limited is situated at 33/9 in Manali New Town. This area is known for industrial stuff, so we fit right in. We deal with exactly what the name says: minerals and materials for building. It’s not a glamorous trade. Most of our days are spent checking inventory and making sure the quality of the minerals is up to scratch. We get a lot of trucks coming through, so the yard is always a bit chaotic. Our office is just a small room in the corner of the site where we keep the ledger and the phone. It’s usually got a layer of dust on everything, no matter how much we clean. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who know the materials well. We’ve been in Manali New Town for some time, and we’ve seen the area change a lot. The work is steady but tiring. We have to be careful with the weights and the types of stone we’re moving. Sometimes the orders are small, sometimes they’re huge, but we treat them all about the same. It’s just about getting the right stuff to the right people. We don't do much advertising; people usually find us through word of mouth or because they saw our sign while driving through the industrial estate. It is just a regular local business doing its thing every day.
