Sunrise Pepper

Sunrise Pepper is based at 348 Aruvathoklu Road. If you walk down the road, you can’t miss us. It’s a relatively quiet stretch of road, which is nice for a change. We deal with pepper, so naturally, the whole place smells like it. It’s a sharp, clean scent that stays with you even after you leave for the day. Our workspace is pretty basic. We have a large area for drying and sorting the pepper corns, and a small corner with a wooden desk where we keep our books. We don't use much fancy technology here; it's mostly about the physical work of grading the pepper and getting it into bags. The building is an older structure, but it keeps the rain out and the pepper dry, which is what matters most. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background while we work. On Aruvathoklu Road, you see the same people passing by every day, and we usually give them a nod. It’s not a high-pressure environment, but we do have to stay focused to make sure we don't mix up the batches. We handle everything ourselves, from the unloading to the final stitching of the sacks. It’s honest work that keeps us busy from dawn until the late afternoon. We aren't a big corporation; we are just a few people who know pepper well and work hard to keep the business going in our little corner of the world.
