New Fashion Jewellery is based in the Pazhemadathil Building, which is over in the Arayankavu area, specifically near the Kulayettikkara P.O. It is a quiet part of town, which we actually quite like. The building is a traditional one, and we have been here long enough that everyone in the village knows our name. We deal with various kinds of jewelry, so we spend a lot of time looking at small details and shining things up. The workspace is simple, with some glass cases and a small area in the back for repairs. It is not a big, glitzy showroom like you would find in a shopping mall. It feels more like a workshop. We have our regulars who come in for small repairs or to see what is new. We do not use any fancy sales tactics. Usually, we are just sitting behind the counter, having a cup of tea and waiting for someone to drop by. Sometimes the fans are a bit noisy, and the lighting could be better, but it is where we have always worked. We know our neighbors well, and often they stop by just to chat about the news or the weather. It is a very local way of doing business. We do not have a website or a social media manager. It is just us in the Pazhemadathil Building, keeping things running one day at a time. It is honest work.
