L.S. Spinning Mills Private Limited

Our place is right on No. 16, Cumbum Main Road, over in Muthuthevanpatti. If you know Theni, you know it gets very hot in the summer, and the spinning mill is no different. We spend the day dealing with raw cotton and the spinning frames. It’s a big space but it fills up fast when the shipments arrive. The morning shift starts when the sun is barely up. You can hear the hum of the motors from the road. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad for the staff. We handle the spinning process from start to finish. It’s messy work with all the lint flying around, but we keep the fans going to help a bit. The main road is always busy with lorries and buses, so there’s always noise coming from outside too. We don’t really do much else besides the spinning work. There's a small area where we keep the finished yarn before it gets loaded onto the trucks. Some weeks are really hectic when multiple orders come in at once. We just manage the machines and make sure the yarn is coming out right. It’s a steady rhythm once everything is running. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we spend half the day with tools trying to get it back online. That’s just a normal day for us at the mill.
