Evergreen Exports & Imports

We are located right at No. 6/16 on Bakthevachalam Street. If you’ve ever walked down this road, you know how it gets during the rainy season with the puddles everywhere. Our space is just a regular building tucked between a few houses and some other small shops. We’ve been operating Evergreen Exports & Imports from here for a while, and it’s become a familiar routine. The front door has a slight creak that we always say we’ll fix but never actually do. Inside, it’s mostly just stacks of paper and the sound of the old computer whirring away in the corner. There isn't much room for a lobby or anything like that, so visitors usually just pull up a plastic chair near the main desk. We spend a lot of time checking lists and looking at schedules. The light in the afternoon hits the windows just right, though it makes it hard to see the screen for an hour or so. We usually take a break around four for some snacks from the shop down the lane. It’s just how things are here on Bakthevachalam Street. Nothing too exciting happens, just the daily work of moving things around and keeping track of everything coming in. We keep the windows open mostly to let some air in, even if it means a bit of dust gets on the ledges. It is a simple life for everyone working here.
