Bharath Niketan Polytechnic College

You can find our polytechnic college over in Sri Gowri Nagar, in the Thimmarasanaickanoor area of Aundipatti. It is a bit of a mouthful to say the address, but most folks around here just know where the college is. We have been here in Tamil Nadu for a good while, teaching technical skills to young people from the surrounding villages and towns. The campus has several workshops where the students spend most of their time. It is a hands-on kind of place, so you will often hear the sound of machines or see students covered in a bit of grease from their practical lessons. We do not have a lot of fancy landscaping or expensive art on the walls. It is a place for work. The classrooms are simple with wooden benches and plenty of windows to let the breeze in. Our staff are mostly people who have worked in the industry before, so they know what they are talking about when it comes to tools and machines. Sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to wait for parts to arrive from the city, but that's just part of running a technical school. We have a small canteen where students grab a snack between their lab sessions. It is not a corporate environment; it feels more like a community where everyone is trying to learn a trade. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day.
